Why can't someone like you be with someone like me?

Songfession: Song of the Week

Fefe Dobson - Kiss Me Fool

Tell me who should I be to make you love me?
Tell me what does it mean to be alone?
Can't you see me standing staring out from the distance,
Hear my cry if you'd only listen...
Out of focus, into me and you

Kiss me fool, if you care
If your words have any meaning.
Playing it cool is so unfair
Why this veil of secrecy?
God forbid, your friends found out what we did
Why can't someone like you be with someone like me?

Tell me who should I be to make you love me?
Tell me what does it mean to be alone?
Can't you see me standing staring out from the distance,
Hear my cry if you'd only listen...
Out of focus, into me and you

Touch me fool, if your allowed.
I'll be dancing in the corner
It's so cruel to play it proud, take your hands and cover me.
I'm aware that all in love is fair, but that's no reason to make me feel this way.

Tell me who should I be to make you love me?
Tell me what does it mean to be alone?
Can't you see me standing staring out from the distance,
Hear my cry if you'd only listen...
Out of focus, into me and you

And it hurts me so bad to deny it, oooh
These feelings are out of control.
Do you know what it's like to want something so bad...
And then having to let it go?
And it hurts me to know that this time in our lives...
So soon will be in the past
And you spend it pretending your playing it cool.
Never knowing,
Never knowing,
Never knowing what,
Never knowing what we should've been.

Tell me who should I be to make you love me?
Tell me what does it mean to be alone?
You've got me wondering if I'm good enough.
Pretty enough, giving enough, special enough

Tell me who should I be to make you love me?
Who should I be? Who should I be? Ooooh...
To make you love me?
Who should I be? Who should I be? Ooooh...
To make you love me?
Who should I be? Who should I be? Ooooh...
To make you love me.........?

All that love got you nowhere

Songfession: Song of the Week

Curtis Peoples - Exit Scene

She said
Take a breath and take me somewhere
Away from here, to somewhere new
All that love got you nowhere
A better life driving to

She just needed to go
She just needed to know
Tonight, tonight
Tonight, tonight

I see the tears falling so hard
With nothing here, she screams out loud
It'll take a while to heal up those scars
It'll make it better for her somehow

She just needed to go
She just needed to know
Just needed to see for herself
That there was something else
She just needed to go
Tonight, tonight

One more mile to find your way
One more hour to make the day
One more mile it will be okay
Yeah, yeah

She just needed to go
She just needed to know

She just needed to go
She just needed to know
Just needed to see for herself
That there was something else
She just needed to go
She just needed to know

Tonight, tonight
Tonight, tonight
Tonight, tonight
Tonight, tonight
Tonight, tonight
Tonight, tonight

Take me as I come 'cause I can't stay long

Songfession: Song of the Week

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Mary Jane's Last Dance

She grew up in an Indiana town
Had a good-lookin' mama who never was around
But she grew up tall and she grew up right
With them Indiana boys on them Indiana nights

Well, she moved down here at the age of eighteen
She blew the boys away, was more than they'd seen
I was introduced and we both started groovin'
She said, "I dig you baby, but I got to keep movin' on
Keep movin' on"

Last dance with Mary Jane, one more time to kill the pain
I feel summer creepin' in and I'm tired of this town again

Well, I don't know, but I've been told
You never slow down, you never grow old
I'm tired of screwin' up, tired of going down
Tired of myself, tired of this town

Oh, my my, oh, hell yes
Honey, put on that party dress
Buy me a drink, sing me a song
Take me as I come 'cause I can't stay long

Last dance with Mary Jane, one more time to kill the pain
I feel summer creepin' in and I'm tired of this town again

There's pigeons down on Market Square
She's standin' in her underwear
Lookin' down from a hotel room
Nightfall will be comin' soon

Oh, my my, oh, hell yes.
You got to put on that party dress
It was too cold to cry when I woke up alone
I hit my last number and walked to the road

Last dance with Mary Jane, one more time to kill the pain
I feel summer creepin' in and I'm tired of this town again

You can run and tell that, homeboy.

Songfession: Video Edition

This is the Ode to Antoine Dobson performed by Tony Lucca and Ernie Halter.

This video is from my first year at Hotel Carolina. Words cannot describe how much fun this event was. It was a hefty drive (about 11 hours one-way,) and I hit a tire on my way there and did $1000 worth of damage to my car, but I would say that was all worth it. Rock Ridge procured a phenomenal line-up, and the location couldn't have been any more gorgeous. The Windjammer is right on the beach, and the hotel where most people stayed is right next door. Unfortunately, this event has kind of gone downhill since certain people left the record label, but I have heard of another event that may be happening in its place. *Fingers crossed*
